Located in the heart of Birmingham on a 70-acre site in a hidden location just a few miles from the city centre, Edgbaston Reservoir is a great dragon boat venue for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle of city life and find a rare green space without having to travel a long way.

The venue is home to the Midland Sailing Club whose recently refurbished galley and clubroom make it ideal for small meetings or as a base for large corporate or charity dragon boat racing events in Birmingham boasting picturesque views of the water and woodland beyond.

Getting There

Situated just west of the city centre, Edgbaston Reservoir is easily accessible for dragon boat racing events in Birmingham and the West Midlands. There is good onsite parking and clients have the option to bring in their own catering.


As well as being an attractive destination for sailing enthusiasts, Edgbaston Reservoir is extremely popular for corporate dragon boat events in Birmingham and the West Midlands. Gable Events run the Community Connect Foundation Nowka Bais dragon boat event here on an annual basis. For this event the boats are decorated with traditional style heads and tails commonly used in dragon boat racing held after the monsoon rains in rural villages of Bangladesh and the Festival reflects many of the customs of the country. Attracting up to 20 teams and thousands of spectators from the Asian community around the UK, as well as being broadcast live on Bangladeshi TV, the event has become well known for its bright colours and vibrant culture.
