Dragon Boat Racing and the Festival
Dragon boat racing is an ancient Chinese tradition and the fastest growing water activity in Britain today - as well as the most fun! Up to 10 people paddle each 30 boat with a drummer at the front beating time and a helm at the tail steering a straight course. No previous experience is required, just plenty of team spirit!
Gable Events has joined with Estates Gazette and the charity Children with Leukaemia to bring you the second dragon boat challenge to be staged for the property industry and its supporters. Starting early afternoon, up to 40 crews are expected to battle it out over the 250m race course, aiming to become top crew in the industry and watched by several hundred spectators. The new venue at West Reservoir, N4 offers a superb location for racing and a fabulous event is guaranteed with bankside entertainment, hospitality and fun activities.

Children with Leukaemia
Children with Leukaemia (the national charity dedicated to finding the causes and cure of leukaemia) is very pleased and grateful to be the beneficiary of The Dragon Boat Challenge.
Until quite recently, most children with leukaemia died. Nowadays, over two thirds are treated successfully, although alarmingly, more new cases are being diagnosed with the disease than ever before. With your kind support, the charity can help more children with leukaemia survive, including those with the most intractable forms of the disease, whilst continuing its efforts until a cure can be found for all children with leukaemia.
