Crews
Crews must comprise of 12-16 paddlers plus a drummer – squads may be larger. Crews must have at least four female members and organisations may enter more than one crew. No age limits are imposed and no previous experience of dragon boat racing is required. All crew members must be able to swim in light clothing and in moving water and compete entirely at their own risk. Qualified helms, buoyancy aids and water safety cover are provided by the organisers.

Rules
Gable Events is an approved operator of the British Dragon Boat Racing Association (BDA) and the Festival will be run under BDA Rules and hold a BDA Race Permit. All crews accepted for entry must abide with the competition rules of the BDA and the entry details shown on this form. Each crew is guaranteed a minimum of 3 races (subject to weather conditions).

Entry Fees
To enter, teams must undertake to raise at least£1500 and £350 deposit secures the boat.
Crews may have less than 17 persons but there are no fee reductions for crews of less than 17.
Catering for more than 20 per team available on application.
Deposit is non returnable in the event of cancellation or due matters beyond our control.

Based on 20 people per team

Entries
Will be accepted on a first come, first served basis. No refunds will be given once an entry has been accepted.

Prizes
RNLI shields will be presented to the winning crew, the two runners-up and the crew raising the most money for the RNLI.

Charity Sponsorship
Official sponsorship forms will be supplied with your entry confirmation and all forms and sponsorship money raised MUST be handed in to Race Control before your crew’s first race. The RNLI Charity Shield will be awarded to the crew raising the most money handed in on the day.
